Terms of Service

flock — last updated 13-10-2026

Scope

flock is open-source software, published under the MIT license, that you install and run yourself. The author offers no service, holds no accounts, and handles no data on anyone's behalf; each installation belongs to the person who runs it, called the operator below.

These terms are published because YouTube API Services and TikTok's developer terms require every API client to publish them. They apply to the author's own installation and to anyone who runs the software as published.

What flock does

flock lets its operator write text for a video, choose a release time, and publish that video to the operator's own YouTube channel, Instagram account, TikTok account and Facebook Page, using YouTube API Services, Meta's Instagram API with Facebook Login and its Pages API, and TikTok's Content Posting API. It also copies the video to a folder on the operator's own storage.

Use of YouTube API Services

flock uses YouTube API Services, subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

flock uploads only content its operator owns or is entitled to publish, to a channel its operator controls. It is not used to access, collect or process information belonging to any other person or channel.

Use of Meta's APIs

flock uses the Instagram API with Facebook Login and the Facebook Pages API, subject to the Meta Platform Terms and the Instagram Terms of Use.

Reels are posted only on the operator's explicit instruction, to an Instagram account the operator controls through a Facebook Page the operator manages, or to that Page itself, and only content the operator owns or is entitled to publish. The operator is responsible for what is posted and for disclosing commercial content where Instagram or Facebook requires it. What flock reads about that account's own posts is kept on the operator's own equipment and shown to the operator only.

Use of TikTok's APIs

flock uses TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API, subject to TikTok's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Videos are posted only on the operator's explicit instruction, to an account the operator controls, and only content the operator owns or is entitled to publish. The operator is responsible for what is posted, for disclosing commercial content where TikTok requires it, and for the music and other material in each video, in line with TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation and Branded Content Policy.

flock uses nothing it receives from TikTok for any purpose other than posting, stores no TikTok content, and shows TikTok content nowhere.

No warranty

flock is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as the MIT license states.

Availability

There is no service to be available or unavailable. Each installation is a program on its operator's own machines, which the operator may change, stop or delete at any time, and the software itself may change without notice.
